My expectations for this career day were that I was going to have to wear working clothes like boots, jeans, and some kind of plain shirt. My other expectations were that I would have to be professional and that I would have to to listen to and respect the costumers, and these expectations were correct. I also thought that I would gone for about a little bit under a normal school day, but we were actually out for the whole day, from 8 to 6. I went to career day with my brother in law, Javier Lopez, who runs his own plumbing business and lets me work with him sometimes to earn money. When we began, we headed out in the truck to go and do the first job. all the jobs in the beginning of the day were fairly short, the first one was in an apartment complex, we had to fix a floor leak in the bathroom or something, but all the walls in the bathroom were taking down and the door was covered up so I'm not sure if that was the case. I didn't get to see much of the room or take a picture and we left because we had to wait another day to work on it. The next job was a leaky or plugged sink. This job was short as well, we put a bucket under the sink to catch the leaking water and we tried to replace the pipes. What's funny about this one is that we worked with this guy before at his old house and it was basically the same problem. For some reason I was afraid to take a photo of the sink, so I didn't get one. After that we went to get lunch at Subway and right as they gave us the sandwich they told us we couldn't pay for it and there was already a long line there, so we left to find somewhere else to eat. We found this bagel shop I assume call Einsteins and it was pretty tasty. I take a while make decisions at new places, but, I ordered some kind of a tasty turkey sandwich with potato salad that I couldn't eat because I forgot a fork, and Javier got a coffee bagel from what I remember, but, I do remember that it was better than Subway. After that we went to another job fixing pipes in the wall. It was another fairly short task and we didn't complete it that day either. We then went to the pipe and supplies store which is right next to our school and got a couple of bathroom supplies. We were there for around 30 minutes, one of the workers there, Richie, was having a conversation with my brother in law about my glasses and memes, until somehow he started talking about men's rompers for like 5 minutes. Someone on the loud speaker yelled at him saying "There you go again about the rompers man!" or something like that. We eventually went to the next job that took about 3 hours to finish. We had to fix a bath tub shower, a water heat box thing, and a dog shower. There was a lot of pipes and sautering involved, we also cut and drilled pipes and the walls. I mostly helped by retrieving the tools and supplies for Javier. We messed up on the dog shower by putting the water head too low but, I think the customer was okay with it. At the end of the day Javi took me back to the house at about 6 or 6:30, and he gave me 20 bucks, but, I had to give that money to my mom because she said so.
